Crack is taking over CCHS. Students are becoming addicted, and disrupting classes. Even teachers are getting in on the action. The crack that is taking over the school is not a drug, though, but rather an app. Trivia Crack, released on May 17, 2014, has made it’s way to Charles City, and cities all over the world. This is a multiplayer trivia game where two people play against each other, where the goal is to get the most ‘characters’. There are 6 categories, each with a representing character. The categories are: Entertainment, Art, Geography, History, Science, and Sports. The category of question is randomly determined once the wheel is spun, and turns last until a question is answered wrong.
Senior CCHS student, Carlos Gonzalez, stated that his favorite category is sports and that he believes Nolan Crawford is one of Charles City’s best players. McKayla Cole, CCHS sophomore, says that her favorite category is entertainment, which is a popular one among girls. She disagrees with Carlos and believes that Bryce Foxen is the best opponent in Trivia Crack. Teachers are attempting to shut down the playing of Trivia Crack in school, but once addicted, students will always find a way to keep their crack.
